While I do keep up with fashion trends, I would not call myself a “fashionista.” I am just a normal person that writes about normal things that pertain to your average woman. Like every other woman I do enjoy dressing up and looking good for myself. One thing that I can think all of us (relatively) average gals can relate to is that some runway trends seemingly just can’t be pulled off for everyday wear. Check out how us “normal girls” can pull off the hottest NYFW Fall 2016 trends below.
Pumpkin Spice & Hunter Green
You already smell like pumpkin and drink pumpkin anything in the fall so why not look like one? Pumpkin spice was featured on almost every runway. This warm and all-skin-tones flattering hue has replaced burgundy as the ‘it’ color of fall this year. I have been rocking this color with this cardigan over pretty much anything and these awesome pants from forever 21 with a navy top.
Another huge trend on the runway was a tone that is a mix between kelly green and hunter green- which I love! Gucci’s whole collection was dedicated to the color. The color is as equally beautiful as it is to pull off. Check out my work look below! I love that this top from H&M can be work to the office but also with some jeans and wedges for happy hour.
Dressed Up Bohemian
Free People followers can rejoice in this trend- or people that hate wearing pants in general. Pretty maxi-dresses that were as equally flowy as they were printed dominated the cat walks. For warmer weather pair this look with a light cardigan or jean jacket and booties. For colder weather pair it with a leather jacket and riding boots with socks to keep it from looking too sweet and airy. P.S I am also digging that this dress from H&M features pipkin spice and hunter green. Plus, it was only $15.
If you were hoping for grunge to be dead today is not your lucky day. The rise of the nineties continued on the runways this fall. Keep your distressed jeans casual with a cute top and chucks, or dress it up with a button down and flats. On a side note, is anyone else ecstatic that denim skirts have come back in!? I rocked this one from H&M with a body suit and an alpaca scarf my fiancé brought back from Argentina for me.
How are you rocking any of these trends this season?
