I’m 33, and I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t get diligent about my skin care routine, until November of 2016. It wasn’t until January of this year that I decided to get serious, do some research, and invest in some good quality skin care. I went down the rabbit hole of youtube, blogs, and Instagram and came across a lot of women (and men) who do the 10 step skin care routine. Now I know what you’re thinking “10 STEPS?!” Yes, that is correct, and every step below is crucial to healthy and glowing skin.
Breaks up dirt, makeup, sunscreen, and gets your face ready to be cleaned.
Gets your face squeaky clean, think of shampoo for your face. A foam cleanser also dries your skin out, so it’s important to follow up with a toner.
It does what it says it does. This isn’t something you do every day though, 1-2 times a week max!
Tip: In these next steps, when using PAT THEM INTO YOUR FACE DO NOT RUB!! Rubbing agitates the skin, patting ensures maximum absorption.
A toner is like a conditioner for your face, it also helps with acne. If you buy nothing else for your face, buy a toner.
An essence is one of those hidden gems, that you don’t know it’s working until you stop using it. Essence helps regenerate the skin cells in your face, Skin cells take 4 weeks to regenerate, so it takes this same amount of time for skin care to work.
A serum helps with lines and smoothing out the face. It keeps you looking refreshed, and glowing from the inside out.
Oh, how I love a face mask. Face masks have essence in them so they’re very great for the skin. You can get them as cheap as $2.50 at your local drugstore. Leave them on for 15-20 minutes, take off and your face will thank you.
Eye creams are important. The skin all around your eye, and below is very sensitive, and most times the driest part of your face, so its best to treat this with a cream specifically for that area.Moisturizer – You need something to seal all of these products in, thats where your moisturizer comes in. You can rub the moisturizer in, (of you can pat its up to you) You can also use a face oil to seal the moisture in.

This is the most important product for your face. It doesn’t matter if you’re only in the sun for 60 seconds, you need a sunscreen! Protect your face, neck, and shoulders!
